This tour will teach you exactly how the people of Samoa have survived in their tiny island paradise for thousands of years and will provide you with a rare opportunity to become part of Samoa’s village life. If you are looking for a tour that will connect you with the local people and will see you departing with an entire new set of skills, then this is for you!

On this 7 day tour you will:

  • Participate in a traditional village welcoming ceremony
  • Learn about the traditional Samoan way of life (fa’a Samoa)
  • Learn to climb a coconut tree and why it is called the tree of life
  • Collect all of the produce needed for a traditional Samoan Umu (earth oven) from local plantations
  • Cook your own Umu using no modern technology
  • Build a traditional Samoan fale from scratch using local materials
  • Learn to dance like the locals
  • Learn to fish like the locals
  • Learn to play like the locals (volleyball & Samoan cricket)
  • Become an honorary member of a village
  • Meet some wonderful people who will become friends for life

This is no ordinary tour and you will walk away with a new appreciation for the everyday comforts you have in life after spending a week and a half learning how to survive in an island paradise. Be warned this tour is not for the faint hearted! You will require at least a medium level of fitness and a winning attitude to participate however we promise not to make you eat any bugs!
